How to buy NEAR exposure

Virtune Staked NEAR ETP gives you NEAR price exposure and staking in a security listed on Nasdaq Stockholm. At a broker offering VIRNEAR, the investment can be held without setting up a NEAR wallet or administering a personal staking position.

NEAR is the native crypto-asset of NEAR Protocol. Token holders can delegate to validators that help operate the network. In the ETP, this delegation is handled for the product's staked holdings. What NEAR is explains the network and its asset.

Why buy NEAR through an ETP?

The ETP combines the NEAR investment and staking in a holding at your broker. Virtune and the staking provider manage delegation, so you do not have to choose validators or maintain a staking wallet.

Rewards allocated to investors remain inside the product, adding to the NEAR attributable to the security. They are not delivered to you as coins to redelegate or spend. Actual rewards vary, and the allocation has deductions and limits.

Virtune holds NEAR with a custodian as collateral for the ETP. The crypto-asset backs the security you own; it is not a personal coin balance in your name.

Buying through a broker

At your broker, the product can be found by its full name or the ISIN shown below. The broker's order page identifies the listing, trading currency, current buy and sell prices and applicable charges. If the broker offers several listings, they still refer to the same security where the ISIN is the same.

Nasdaq Stockholm is the product's only exchange listing. SE0025837735 is the ISIN for Virtune Staked NEAR ETP.

The NEAR ETP product page brings together available brokers, product documents and current details. Account availability and tax treatment depend on your country and account type; the exchange listing alone does not establish either.

Costs of buying and holding the ETP

The management fee is deducted from the product's value over time. It is different from the costs of trading: the broker may charge commission, the buy and sell prices have a spread, and a currency conversion charge can apply when the trade uses a different currency from your cash account. The table below separates these costs.

Costs when buying Virtune Staked NEAR ETP

CostCharged byWhen
Brokerage commissionBrokerOn every purchase and sale
Difference between bid and ask priceMarketOn every trade
Management fee, 1.49% per yearIssuerOngoing, from the product's value
Currency conversionBroker, if applicableIf the product trades in another currency
The broker sets commission and currency conversion charges in its price list. The management fee is stated in the product's KID.

Investor allocation cannot exceed 75% of earned staking rewards or the amount generating an annual reward rate of 4% before the investor fee, under the NEAR Final Terms. The lower limit applies. Neither figure is a promised reward, and the management fee is separate.

Risks to understand

Crypto-asset prices can move sharply, so the value of the ETP can fall. Crypto markets continue trading when stock exchanges are closed; the next ETP quote can therefore differ substantially from the previous close.

The security also carries issuer and custody risks. If Virtune cannot meet its obligations, what investors recover depends on the crypto-assets held as collateral and the process for enforcing their rights. Problems with custody or delays in recovery can affect the outcome. These product risks are separate from the convenience of holding the investment at a broker.

Staking rewards vary, and reward-delivery or staking-provider problems can reduce the benefit allocated to investors. Additional coins in the backing do not prevent losses when the asset's price falls. How staking works explains the underlying mechanism.

The crypto ETP buying guide explains the purchase process and the difference between a security and a crypto-asset holding.
